PR for Female Founders

You built something good. Someone less capable worked out how to sound more certain, and got the PR write-up you deserved.

Does this sound familiar?

You’ve done the work. But when a journalist needs a quote, a panel needs a speaker, or a “founders to watch” list gets written, someone else’s name goes in – usually someone with less to show for it.

That’s not a confidence problem. It’s a media relations problem, and it’s the one we specialise in.

How we can help

  • PR support – press coverage
  • Story development
  • Journalist relationships

Built for female founders and female-led businesses, because that’s where we see this gap widest and where we’ve built the sharpest playbook for closing it.

Why this, specifically

Founders come to us after they have tried posting more, and it has not worked, because posting was never the problem. The problem is that nobody has sat down and worked out who actually cares about what you do, and said it plainly, in the places those people already pay attention.

Working with female founders is where we have done our best work, and it is worth saying so plainly rather than burying it in a sentence on the About page. That said, if you have built something good and have something honest to say, we are interested.

What tends to be different.

The story is usually already there. Most founders have dismissed their best material as “not interesting enough” or “not professional enough to mention.” It is nearly always the headline.

The publication you want is rarely the one that moves the needle. We will push for the trade title your buyers actually read over the glossy one you would frame. Coverage is a receipt, not the goal.

If it does not change what people think, say, or are willing to pay, it was decoration.

Meet the founder

We are led by Amie-Leigh Minshull, a Chartered PR Practitioner with nearly 20 years in the industry, CIPR accredited, sitting on the CIPR Yorkshire and Lincolnshire committee.

She has spent most of that time watching good businesses undersell themselves, usually because someone told them to be less specific, less controversial, less themselves.

Amie-Leigh has spent nearly 20 years working out why good businesses go unnoticed, and then doing something about it.

She is a Chartered PR Practitioner and CIPR accredited, and she sits on the CIPR Yorkshire and Lincolnshire committee. Her background covers in-house and agency work across technology and telecoms, health and wellness, pharmaceuticals, fashion, food and drink, transport and logistics, energy, aerospace and defence, finance and education.

She specialises in PR strategy, media and influencer relations, thought leadership and crisis communications. Which is the formal way of saying she knows which journalists reply, what they are sick of receiving, and what to write in the first ten minutes when something has gone badly wrong.

She also speaks at business events, mostly about the things founders are advised not to say out loud.
She will tell you the truth in the first meeting. It saves everyone six months.

No — it’s where we do our most consistent work and where we see the perception gap widest, but we work with anyone building something good with something honest to say.
That’s a common starting point, not a disqualifier. Usually the issue was the story or the target, not the effort. Bring what you tried on the call and we’ll tell you honestly what was missing.
It isn’t a different service — it’s the same Strategic PR Consultancy, Full-Service PR Support and Full-Service PR & Marketing, applied to the specific pattern we see most in founder-led, female-led businesses.
